Breathing Life back into Communities
Redrow’s capability to undertake mixed-use developments, combining places where people can both work and live is an important element in the delivery of our sustainable strategy.
Redrow’s commitment to providing better, environmentally friendly communities was re-emphasised when Redrow Regeneration was launched in 2004 to focus on large scale regeneration projects in the South East, exemplified by the joint venture to re-develop Watford Junction railway station, near London, including making improvements to the town’s infrastructure.
This commitment is mirrored in other projects such as the regeneration of the South Yard Enclave, Devonport where Redrow has been selected as development partner by English Partnerships to transform the 7.3 hectare site into a mixed use neighbourhood featuring more than 450 new homes, shops, offices and community facilities which will be built to BRE Eco-Homes “Excellent” standard.
Redrow has also been chosen by English Partnerships as preferred developer for the Openshaw area of the new East Manchester Regeneration area. The EMR will eventually deliver approximately 10,000 new homes and mixed commercial usage.
