Brownfield Land
The Group’s long-term business objectives include the implementation of a detailed environmental strategy that satisfies Governmental directives on the use of brownfield land and the regeneration of derelict sites.
Already, more than 70% of our land bank is recycled land and Redrow has built up a considerable skills base for treating and clearing contaminated land, returning often unsightly eyesores to prime residential and commercial schemes for the benefit of the community.
Such land is carefully researched and remedial measures are undertaken in full accordance with regulatory requirements, and with the co-operation of the appropriate organisations, to deliver land that is suitable for development and enhance the environment. Our local teams are fully briefed on any environmental or political concerns, so that the solution we create meets the need to the local community, as well as those of the landowner and developer.
A prime example of this kind of initiative is Jupiter at Sherbourne Street, Birmingham,
Redrow's pioneering 'In the City' apartment scheme in the heart of Birmingham's
regeneration area.
