Debut

When several hundred people queued for the opportunity to purchase one of the first new Debut properties from Redrow Homes, it was overwhelming proof of the demand for affordable homes specifically designed to meet the needs of the first time buyers or those on low incomes.

The Debut range has been developed in close consultation with various planning officials and regulatory authorities, and restrictive covenants ensure that this new concept really does help solve the affordability crisis faced by Britain’s first time buyers.

Below are just a few quotes from planners and customers on what Debut means to them:-

"In these days of spiralling house prices, radical and innovative solutions have to be found if young people and those on lower incomes are to get a foot on the property ladder. The Debut range provides one such solution by maximising the use of land and simplifying construction – whilst maintaining environmental quality,"
Cllr Gordon Collett, Rugby Borough Council’s Portfolio Holder for Borough Development.

"Here in Chorley, Redrow’s Debut range has been welcomed as a way of helping young people and others struggling to get on the property ladder. Innovative design and construction methods plus efficient land use enable much more affordable purchase prices to be achieved. Good external treatments and the commitment to on-going scheme management should ensure that quality is maintained into the future."

Cllr Adrian Lowe, Chorley Borough Council’s Portfolio Holder for Development and Planning.

The first three Debut schemes at Willans Green in Rugby, Buckshaw Village, Lancashire and Castle Vale, Birmingham, have been awarded an EcoHomes 'excellent' rating by the Building Research Establishment (BRE), of only 20 or so schemes across the UK to achieve the top rating to date. This independent, transparent rating scheme assesses the environmental quality of a development by considering the broad concerns of climate change, use of resources, pollution and impacts on bio-diversity.
