School children from William Shrewsbury Primary School in Burton on Trent were shown around the Meadow Brook development in Hilton, Derby, as part of a school project to learn more about how buildings are created. They met Buster on their travels, who, along with the site manager, gave them a quick rundown on the many dangers to be found on a construction site.
Dangerpoint
Danger Point is a dynamic safety education centre for children in Wales and the North West, developed by the North Wales Police and partnered by the North Wales business community.
It has been constructed to include various interactive ‘environments’ including the home, construction sites, rail tracks, water features etc. all designed to highlight hazards to children and to prevent accidents.
Redrow constructed a lounge and kitchen area and a construction site scenario within the complex.
The centre was opened on 14th October 2005 by Rt. Hon. Rhodri Morgan MP.
It is the intention that all school pupils in North Wales and the North West will pass through the centre and after its first three months of operation in March 2006, the centre celebrated the visit of its 1'000th pupil.
